Basically I'm going to attempt to sum up my experiences leading up to art school. It pretty much started when I was 15, picked up a camcorder and thought it would be a good idea to make "jackass" type videos with my friends. But back in old times there was no "youtube" or anything so I figured the best way to get our movies to the eyes of our friends would be through making a web page. I eventually figured out how to make a website for my "films". Since then I've learned a great deal about final cut/photoshop/illustrator since having to learn these programs to make the films/icons/graphics for my movies and websites.
Music has also been a huge hobby of mine. I've been in a few bands over the years which gave me more reasons to expand onto the web and make websites for promotional reasons.
Photography has also been another huge hobby of mine. One of the first interests that really put me into the art field. My 11th and 12th grade years of high school I took traditional photo 1 and 2 where I got into photography and learned how to develop film and continued on to take Digital photography 1 and 2 in college
Not being too sure what i wanted to get into after I graduated high school. I signed up at my local community college to take some photography and graphic design classes. I also took a few electives in film and XHTML which I definitely found interesting and made me want to design for the web more.
I guess about 2 years have passed while I was taking classes at HCC. Then a small hiatus from college for a little over a year. Then I decided what I really wanted to get into. Designing for the web. I figured coming from a strong background in the arts I should go after this as an artist. And the Maryland Institute College of Art happens to offer a neat major called "Interaction Design and Art" I figure from this angle I can learn a great deal about Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver/Flash/Ect... and the HTML code. I figured going after this career from an artists standpoint would be more beneficial due to the anyone being able to memorize code. If I can acquire a great sense of whats aesthetic in web design and have overall better work.
Annnnnndddddddddd Because this is an art school all of the entry level classes are about developing basic artistic ability. I'm required to take Drawing and Painting classes where I'll be sure to post my work. And of couse photography has always been a big intrest of mine so I'd like to stick with that hobby of mine.
phew that was a lot to type, ill proofread and touchup my typos/run on sentences later.
